There are still spots available! The Legends Rally will explore the most epic trails between Horsepower Ranch and mountains west of San Felipe, all while eating and drinking in typical Legends Rally fashion. On day 1, we will ride from Horsepower Ranch to Ojos Negros, then straight north to the treacherous Rumorosa Grade. Once at the bottom of Rumorosa, we will head East around the mountains then straight South to our end destination of Guadalupe Canyon.

On Day 2, we will once again pass over the mountains on a new trail just pre-ran with legend, Larry Roeseler.  This trail provides some of the most epic views on the ride.  Once on the other side, we'll head to Laguna Hanson for a quick photo op before dinner at La Cava de Marcelo.  From there, it's one last stop at Rancho El Tule for epic sunset views 5 miles back to the city of Ensenada.  The Guadalupe Canyon Legends Rally will conclude with a party at Horsepower Ranch.

Aguamala Artesanal Cerveza Joins The Legends Rally powered by Horsepower Adventures as Official “Beer” Partner!
Come taste some of Baja’s best microbrewed beer out in the beautiful nature of Baja!

Aguamala Artesanal Cerveza arises from a mixture of passion for the ocean, biodiversity and science, taking these elements as inspiration for their name and each of their labels. In 2009, the experimentation began.  Aguamala quickly became the Mexican artisanal brewery that always seeks to offer something new and different. Experimentation is a fundamental part of Aguamala’s processes to offer unique combinations.  Their tasting room is their laboratory where they offer new aromas and flavors with each of their beers.

“We are excited to share our beers with Legends Rally powered by Horsepower Adventures participants. I just did a UTV trip with Horsepower Adventures myself.  We put a lot of passion into making our beer so sharing it with people in the natural beauty of Baja is the perfect setting,” commented Founder and Brewmaster, Nathaniel Schmidt.

“Beer is a key component in baja food culture. There is some really exciting experimentation going on with beer.  They aren’t afraid to try new things since it’s all relatively new. Aguamala is making some great beers from pilsners to stouts and everything in between. They have six distinct deliciously creative beers and nothing is better after a long day of off-roading than a cold Baja made microbrew!” stated Legends Rally Founder and CEO, Matt Martelli.

Stop by the Aguamala tasting room in Ensenada on Highway 3 just a couple miles past the last toll booth on the oceanside and enjoy beers and food with a view of their beatiful Pacific Ocean.

El Tinieblo Mezcal joins The Legends Rally as official “Spirits” partner!

El Tinieblo Mezcal joins The Legends Rally as official “Spirits” partner!

El Tinieblo Mezcal joins The Legends Rally as official “Spirits” partner!
Come taste mezcal and learn about the origins of this rustic cousin of tequila
El Tinieblo Mezcal is an ultra premium artisanal product that has been hand-distilled in the state of Tamaulipas by Master Mezcalero Don Baltazar Cruz. Ranch El Tinieblo, a 9000-acre farm where maguey is grown and the mezcal is made based on sustainability and with the desire to improve the economy of this rural state. Ranch El Tinieblo’s “local’s first" approach employs seven families in the Jimenez area as well as a number of local tradesmen who assist in the construction and maintenance of their palenque. For generations, El Tinieblo has been in the forefront of mezcal culture, conservation, and agave plant processing. El Tinieblo take pride in their history and continues to strive for their craft mezcal to be enjoyed for centuries to come.
“We are excited to introduce our Mezcal to the off-road community in such an intimate setting. We put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into the making of El Tinieblo Mezcal so it’s important to us that people get the full experience of tasting El Tinieblo Mezcal. What you are going to taste is over two hundred years of Mexico's history, earth, agave, and fire,” commented Master Mezcalero, Don Baltazar Cruz.

“Mezcal is the new Tequila on steroids! The varietals and process are less restricted the tequila allowing for much more creativity resulting in hundreds of variations. There is everything from “Joven’s" or young unrested Mezcal with smoky, peppery notes to “Anejo” Mezcal aged for more than 4 years in American oak barrels previously used for bourbon with smooth smokey caramel notes. El Tinieblo has an excellent offering of different Mezcal and is one of my favorites for mixing and sipping! You will be blown away with variation within the El Tinieblo offering! We can’t wait to share a taste with all The Legends rally participants,” stated Legends Rally Founder and CEO Matt Martelli.

Perceived as some harsh homemade hooch with a worm in the bottom of the bottle, Mezcal has had a bad reputation to Americans for decades but this complex and diverse spirit has more range and depth than tequila. With over 30 types of agave species, varieties, and sub varieties, the different varieties of mezcal's are endless. The word mezcal means "oven-cooked agave". Though most mezcal is made in Oaxaca, it can also be made in Durango, Guanajuato, Guerrero, San Luis Potosí, Tamaulipas, Zacatecas, Michoacán and the recently approved Puebla.

Mezcal is made from the heart of the agave plant, called the piña, much the same way it was made 450 years ago. Mezcal is highly varied, depending on the species of agave used, the fruits and herbs added during fermentation and the distillation process. It is generally consumed straight and has a strong smoky flavor. Though mezcal is not as popular as tequila (made specifically from the blue agave in select regions of the country), Mexico does export the product, mostly to Japan and the United States, and exports are growing.
